US Embassy Officials Pay Courtesy Call On Registrar High Court

A team from the U.S embassy paid a courtesy call on the Registrar High Court, HW Rosemary Bareebe at her chambers at the Judiciary headquarters.
The visit was part of their familiarization tour to understand how the specialized Standards, Utilities and Wildlife Court operates.
Ms Damaris Thompson (U.S State Department International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Bureau) who led the three-member team commended HW Gladys Kamasanyu, the Chief Magistrate at the Standards, Utilities and Wildlife Court for being a trendsetter.
HW Rosemary noted that HW Kamasanyu has benchmarked on how the Court should operate and conduct cases.
She thanked the US Embassy team for the support and for the interactive meeting.
Ms Thompson said she said she had come to see how the court works and how it deals with handling wildlife trafficking cases and also to offer support.
HW Kamasanyu noted the need need to build capacity among judicial officers to knowhow to handle the cases of wildlife trafficking.
In attendance was Ms Hadja Diallo and Mr John Abimanyi both from the US Embassy.
